We can all agree that 2020 was horrible. Seriously.

However, to prove to you that it wasn’t all bad, here are ten good things that happened last year.

  1. Covid-19 stopped the world — but not the absolutely heroic health care and front-line workers!!! Thanks are not enough.
  2. Africa is now free of Polio.
  3. The pandemic stopped everyone, but scientists around the world answered the call with unprecedented speed to make vaccines.
  4. Drive-in movies made a comeback. Plus museums, national parks and zoos around the world closed, but opened up virtually.
  5. The Supreme Court ruled that no one can be fired for being gay or transgender.
  6. Carbon dioxide emissions declined
  7. 14 nations banded together to restore fish populations, reefs and eliminate plastic.
  8. Go Women! Here are three examples:
    1. Kamala Harris became the first woman, first Black-American, and first Indian-American Vice President-elect.
    2. Deb Haaland became the first Native American to hold a cabinet position.
    3. NASA named its headquarters building in D.C. after Mary W. Jackson, the agency’s first African American female engineer.
  9. The world came together to fight the devastating Australian wildfires
  10. The Black Lives Matter movement became the biggest mass movement in U.S. history and has made a huge impact around the world.

Good always happens, sometimes you just have to look for it.

So next time you find yourself in a dark place? Be a flashlight and show people the way out.

Until next time,
