A trailblazer in the concierge industry, Katharine founded the first association for independent concierges, shaping the industry for over two decades until her retirement in March 2023. Her pioneering spirit and commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on the profession.

Throughout her illustrious career, Katharine has trained numerous concierge and front-line staff, earning her clients a reputation as some of the industry’s most successful.   • Katharine is considered to be the original founder of the independent concierge industry by forming the first association for independent concierge. She ran it successfully for over 20 years.
  • 1998-present: Co-Founder of The Giowell Group, LLC
  • 2000-2012: Founder and Chairman of the Board of ICLMA, The International Concierge & Lifestyle Management Association
  • 2016-2020: Co-Founder of ICLMNet, International Concierge & Lifestyle Management Network

In 1998, Katharine was among the trailblazers who explored the realm of independent concierge services. At that time, the landscape boasted only a handful of such services across the U.S. Sensing the untapped potential, she transformed her company into a cutting-edge concierge service, giving rise to the formation of the International Concierge and Lifestyle Management Association (ICLMA). Through her impactful leadership, Katharine set the standard for independent concierge companies.

In 2012, faced with a stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, Katharine’s resilience became evident, leading to her retirement from ICLMA. Overcoming cancer in 2016, she founded The International Concierge & Lifestyle Management Network (ICLMNet), which flourished until its closure in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Katharine played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of concierge services, contributing to the U.S. Department of Labor by creating a concierge category for their Occupational Information Network. Her expertise spans individual mentoring to training corporate giants such as Subaru and one of the top two leading social media companies. Renowned for her practical and effective training programs, she left a significant impact on global companies.

In 2023, Katharine retired from the concierge industry to focus on her flourishing writing and coaching/consulting career.
